RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 Eligibility and Qualification
Educational qualification varies according to the Technician category selected by the candidate. Applicants must possess the prescribed educational/technical qualification from a recognized institution or university by 29 July 2026.
Candidates waiting for the final result of the required qualification should not apply. The notification also states that, for Pay Level-2 Technician posts, an Engineering Diploma or Degree cannot generally be used in place of the prescribed ITI/Course Completed Act Apprenticeship unless specifically allowed for that post.
For various Technician Grade-III categories, qualifications generally involve Matriculation/SSLC plus the relevant NCVT/SCVT ITI trade or Course Completed Act Apprenticeship, depending on the specific post. The notification provides category-wise age relaxation. SC/ST candidates receive 5 years and OBC-NCL candidates receive 3 years of upper-age relaxation. Other relaxations are available for eligible Ex-Servicemen, serving Railway employees, certain female candidates and Course Completed Act Apprentices as specified in the notification.

Candidates selected for Technician posts will receive initial pay according to their respective Pay Level under the 7th CPC.Selected candidates may also receive applicable allowances and benefits under Railway rules.
