The examination notification was officially issued for 30 test papers across engineering, technology, science, humanities, and commerce streams. Online registration through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) opened on 02.09.2026, and the regular application deadline has been extended to 05.10.2026 (closing with late fee subsequently).

New Test Paper Added: A brand-new test paper on Robotics and Automation (RA) has been officially introduced, expanding the total papers to 30.
Paper Code & Section Revisions: Textile Engineering and Fibre Science (TF) has been integrated under the Engineering Sciences paper as sectional subject XE9.
Updated Multi-Section Paper Codes: Sectional papers for Engineering Sciences (XE), Humanities & Social Sciences (XH), and Life Sciences (XL) now follow revamped designations (e.g., XE0 to XE9, XH0 to XH6, XL0 to XL5).
DigiLocker Integration & Live Face Capture: Candidates must provide live facial image capture during form submission and are advised to verify credentials through DigiLocker.
Scorecard Validity: GATE 2027 scores remain valid for three years from the date of result announcement.
