Eligibility, Qualification & Age Limit
Steno Typist
The candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or institution.
- At least 120 hours computer course with hands-on experience in computer/IT office productivity applications or desktop publishing applications from a recognized institution, or an equivalent “O” Level computer qualification.
- Passed Matriculation examination of Punjabi Language or an equivalent Punjabi language examination as specified by the University.
Clerk
The candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or institution.
- At least 120 hours computer course with hands-on experience in computer/IT office productivity applications or desktop publishing applications, or equivalent “O” Level qualification.
- Passed Matriculation examination of Punjabi Language or equivalent Punjabi language examination.
Storekeeper
The candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s degree with Economics / B.Com. / B.B.A.
- At least 120 hours computer course with hands-on experience in computer/IT office productivity applications or desktop publishing applications, or equivalent “O” Level qualification.
- Passed Matriculation examination of Punjabi Language or equivalent Punjabi language examination.
Age Limit
The age will be calculated as on 01.01.2026.
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age for General Category: 37 Years
- SC/BC: 5 years relaxation
- PwD candidates who are residents of Punjab: 10 years relaxation
- Other applicable relaxations are as per Punjab Government rules.
Reservation benefits are available only to residents of Punjab as per the notification and applicable Punjab Government rules.

Punjabi Language Test requires 50% marks and is qualifying in nature. The Main Examination carries 100 marks, with 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.
For the typing test, candidates have to qualify in both Punjabi and English with a minimum gross typing speed of 30 words per minute in each language.

The Main Examination has 100 questions for 100 marks and includes Part-A and Part-B. Candidates have to secure at least 40% marks separately in both parts. There is 0.25 negative marking for every wrong answer.

The Shorthand Proficiency Test is conducted separately in English and Punjabi. Candidates have to qualify in both languages. The test carries marks towards the final merit.
Salary / Pay Scale
The pay scale mentioned in the notification is:

Clerk
The Clerk Main Examination consists of 100 MCQ questions for 100 marks.

- Logical Reasoning & Mental Ability

The exam duration is 100 minutes and 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer.
Storekeeper
The Storekeeper Main Examination consists of two parts:

Part-A covers General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Punjab History & Culture, Reasoning, Punjabi, English and ICT. Part-B covers the core Storekeeper-related subjects.
Steno Typist
The Main Examination consists of 100 MCQ questions for 100 marks. Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination are called for the Shorthand Proficiency Test.
The shorthand test is conducted in English and Punjabi. Candidates take dictation at 80 words per minute and are required to transcribe it.
How to Apply
Candidates have to apply online through the recruitment link available on the official GADVASU website. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.
Candidates should fill in their personal, educational and other required details carefully. They also need to upload their recent photograph, signature and required certificates/documents.
After completing the form, candidates have to pay the prescribed application fee online. The application will be treated as successfully submitted only after successful fee payment.
After successful submission, candidates should download and keep a copy of the final application form. Candidates are also required to fill the prescribed offline application form and submit it along with the online application printout and required documents to the Registrar, GADVASU, Ludhiana, by the stipulated date.
